I played in the kitchen today with a recipe from Eating Well, Strawberry-Basil Muffins (see the variation).  While the concept is fab, my execution was a bit off.  If you like basil, do not be afraid to add more with extra strawberries.  As some commentators said, the flavor comes out a bit bland, on par with a good bread instead of a flavorful muffin.  Now to address the elephant in the room, yes, my muffins are green.  I like to add spirulina and liquid chlorophyll (along with flax seed) so I feel like I’m eating healthfully.
